The Manufacturing Safety Specialist will provide leadership, oversight and support of Crusoe Energy’s safety mission. This position is expected to oversee that policies and procedures are followed and assist with conflict resolution for fleet safety, vehicle, accident, and injury investigations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor health & safety programs that ensure protection of health, provide a safe workplace, and comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Conduct facility inspections, measure compliance with H&S programs and ensure corrective measures are taken if required.
- Record and analyze accident, injury, & near miss data and trends, and propose data driven H&S methods and programs to mitigate hazards and risk.
- Work with manufacturing team to evaluate work-station design and tooling to ensure sound ergonomics practices.
- Conduct Industrial Hygiene surveys to ensure exposure levels are within acceptable limits and provide the necessary protection of employees.
- Provide training in accordance with regulatory requirements and company directives
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene or demonstrated equivalent education and experience
- 3 to 5 years of health and safety experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting; ASP, CSP or CIH certification preferred
- Understanding of OSHA regulations, NFPA fire code as they apply in an industrial setting
- Knowledgeable of industrial chemicals and industrial hygiene sampling equipment
- Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and ability to utilize policies, practices, trends, and tactics to accomplish business objectives within a complex organization
- Familiar with management systems and general ergonomics principles
- Effectively, accurately, and understandably communicate and actively seek feedback
- Taking action without specific instructions and taking reasonable risks to achieve results
- Ability to maintain a professional attitude under pressure and manage change
- Experience in a team-based Kaizen and 5S environment and Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Proven ability to manage multiple conflicting projects and tenacity to drive long term projects to a successful conclusion
