People Operations Manager
Lilac Solutions, Inc. is growing fast, and we are seeking a People Operations Manager to ensure Lilac employees experience a positive employee experience from day one. The People Operations Manager will report to the Director of People and work on site in our Oakland, CA office. Occasional work from home flexibility will be available.
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Lilac’s benefits programs: run open enrollment, liaise with benefits partners, and serve as the go-to resource for employee benefits questions.
- Welcome new Lilac employees: send out offer letters, conduct new hire orientations and onboarding, making enhancements as Lilac continues to scale.
- Be our payroll system expert: ensure all HRIS data is accurate and up to date, run semi-monthly payroll, and train managers and employees on how to use the system.
- Ensure compliance with local labor law for each Lilac location: stay up to date on new laws, payroll compliance, leave policies, postings, and workers compensation.
- Support employees during leaves of absence: ensure all leave of absence paperwork is completed before, during, and upon returning from leave.
- Continue to build out people operations programs that enhance the employee experience and communicate Lilac’s brand through the full employee lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have at least three (3) years of HR operations experience.
- You are a self-starter and skilled at working independently on multiple projects. Bonus points if you have project management experience.
- You have been involved in coordinating or running benefits open enrollment and/or have a general understanding of benefits programs.
- You provide excellent customer service and believe in creating a quality employee experience from the first day.
- You have knowledge of, and ideally direct experience, managing the administrative component of an HRIS or other HR-tech software.
- You like digging into the details, staying organized, and helping others keep on task.
- You are interested in the emerging renewable energy industry.
- You have an Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
