As a Plant Quality Assurance Manager, you will manage and coordinate activities of the quality control function in the MTY plant. You'll have to make the established quality standards are in place and followed, and the quality of products and services are consistent and meet both internal and external requirements.

Your role will be concerned with improving the efficiency of the quality management system, performing data and reporting on quality, and improving the set standards.

Quality Manager aims to ensure the products or services a company provides meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and implement quality training and development programs to maintain the competence and technical skills required for the effective performance of the plant quality function
  • Manage shift quality control operators on a daily basis to ensure the quality control processes are in place,the data collection system is functioning properly, and a process of continuous quality improvement is in place
  • Ensure the manufacturing processes meets corporate, national, and international quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement through implementation and analysis of service quality metrics, key performance indicators and metrics
  • Work on the efficiency of the quality control system in order to reduce waste of time where possible
  • Manage quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
  • Set up and maintain a plant documentation management system
  • Monitor performance of the QC system by gathering and analyzing relevant data and issuing periodic reports, initiate the implementation of the improvements.
  • Educate sales and marketing departments
  • To supervise the Quality Management activities in terms of 3D printed panel production, including Quality Management inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records
  • Meet requirements set by third party certification bodies such as UL and the California Department of Housing & Community Development Factory Built Housing Program
  • Work with material suppliers on quality issues and cost reductions
  • Oversees the preparation of the quality manual and supervision of all amendments and revisions
  • Supports and participates in all internal/external audits

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years Quality Management experience in a leadership role within a light to heavy mechanical manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze big data and make recommendations based on data
  • Detail-oriented, ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, flexibility to reorganize and reschedule work on short notice to meet tight deadlines, have a strong quality mindset
  • Multi-plant experience with global responsibility a plus
  • ASQ/ Six Sigma certifications
