As a pioneering QA Engineer on our team, you would be laying the foundation for solid QA best practices, test strategies, optimal manual/automated test execution, and consistent/predictable quality metrics release-over-release. Successful candidates are creative engineers who take great pride in both the technical and business contribution of their work and are passionate about great software and ultimately a great customer experience.

This is a full-time paid position based at our HQ office in Mountain View, CA. While this posting is listed for SF Bay Area, CA, we are open to hiring throughout the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide domain expertise and leadership to the Amply software quality assurance area.
• Lead an effective analysis of product features for application under test, identify scenarios, test execution, defect reporting, and triage.
• Ensure all non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, usability, etc. are met.
• Build and maintain automated feature test scripts based on system requirements and test plans.
• Correlate test data to fleet-level requirements to ensure all vehicle charging systems meet targets and acceptance criteria.
• Report deficits through troubleshooting, identify a potential root cause, and clearly record the reproduction steps to shorten a bug fix turnaround time.
• Evaluate available tools, technology, and tools utilization & integration to conduct a feasibility study.
• Design and develop test cases for new requirements to the product.
• Create and manage test epics, user stories, tickets, and defects for sprints and track issues to closure.
• Refine and validate acceptance criteria for all major features developed Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards.
• Represent the quality department of the company in front of customers.
• Prepare and deliver presentations related to product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science minimum in a relevant science or engineering field.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant QA experience working with cloud hosted platforms, RESTful APIs, and complex user interfaces.
• Excellent problem solving skills and proficient at applying appropriate test techniques to target comprehensive coverage of functionality.
• Strong Automation and Manual testing background, including writing test plans for new product features, executing test plans, report software bugs.
• Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript and tools such as JMeter, Postman, SoapUI, Selenium, Robot Framework would be strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with containerized services hosted on AWS.
• Eager to learn and learn fast, enjoy a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams, and the ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects.

Even more importantly, EV fleets, in particular when part of critical and close to real-time business processes (for example in autonomous fleets) need to be scheduled for charging in specific time intervals. By taking control of the utility meter, optimizing EV charge rate and vehicle process flow, AMPLY provides the lowest cost of electric fueling possible in a given depot location or in-route stops. Our approach is to offer charging as a service, which is unique in the industry. We offer our customers a per mile driven usage rate. AMPLY provides the bulk of the upfront capital expenditures associated with the charging platform.
