The role:

We are looking for a Quality and Regulatory affairs analyst to join our QA team. This role will provide support to the Sr. Quality Engineer to ensure our product packaging and label claims maintain regulatory compliance with federal code. The Quality and Regulatory affairs analyst will help develop and manage product specification sheets, submit new products to certifying groups (Kosher, Plant Based, etc.), oversee the generation Nutrition Facts Panel information and ingredients statements.  This role will work cross functionally with marketing, communications and legal to weigh in on the regulatory landscape that we need to consider in order to maintain compliance in our marketing and communications regarding product claims.

Responsibilities:

• Manage correspondence for product certifications with certifying bodies
• Communicate with Marketing/Communications/Legal to ensure that product claims are accurate according to product specifications
• Knowledge of FDA labeling guidelines as they pertain to nutrition facts, ingredient statements and product claims.
• Develop components of product label including ingredient statement, allergen declaration, nutrition facts panel, net weight statement and claims, which meet government requirements, and standards of identity
• Contribute to innovation and harmonization of projects in area of responsibility
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to cross-functional partners for project teams, including commercial marketing, legal and product development
• Monitor the regulatory environment and watch for trends in local and international spheres for the product category and topic area that you own to assess impact on our products and business; implement changes where you see the chance for optimization within the compliance period
• Assist in maintaining oversight of raw materials supplier documents and request updates, when needed. Perform supplier audits, when needed
• Contribute effectively to the foundation of the Regulatory team by maintaining compliance tools, updating policies and procedures, and striving for continuous improvement to enable products to get to market quickly

Qualifications:

• Requires BS/BA, preferably in nutrition and/or food science. BS/BA in another field with 3-5 years relevant regulatory experience in the food industry will be considered
• 2+ years experience in the food industry, primarily in regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance, food labeling, nutrition or product development

Compensation:
$60,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience)
