Position Overview
This position will provide comprehensive quality support to Proterra’s Greenville Site Quality Manager and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for the inspection of bus component installation, sub-assemblies as well as developing and updating inspection documentation. Additional responsibilities include root cause/corrective actions for documented defects on and off the vehicle, management of out of flow hardware, daily support for out of flow hardware and weekly reporting of MRB/Out of Flow hardware.
About the Role – You will:
- Maintain and uphold to high safety standards
- Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, quality, documentation and 5S.
- Document out of flow and scrap components.
- Transact material within the Proterra systems with special attention to details.
- Communicate issues back to production associates and management
- Utilize function testers and other quality equipment
- Assist with integration of quality processes on the production line
- Maintain production and quality standards under minimal supervision
- Solve problems by obtaining data, performing analysis to identify and evaluate possible alternative; Unusual cases are escalated and resolved with supervisor/manager.
- Other duties as assigned by management

- This position will be part of the Quality team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greenville, SC.
- You will report to the Site Quality Manager and collaborate with other Quality team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA. Daily tasks will be provided from the Inspection Team Lead Person.

Your Experience Includes:
- Associate Degree or Equivalent
- 4+ years of Electrical Technician experience, preferably in automotive, bus or heavy vehicle
- Experience with automotive electronic and mechanical systems
- Hands-on mechanical and high voltage skills
- Strong communication skills within all levels of technical personnel
- Proficient use of MS Office applications.
- Proficient with test, measurement and calibrated vehicle equipment (i.e., torque wrench, multi-meter, etc.)
- Physical Demands:
- May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
- Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
- Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
- Environmental Demands:
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
- Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment if needed.
