About the Role

The BOB Farm Operations team is in the early stages of building out its prototype outdoor algae farm, and we are now seeking a sanitation worker who can enable our production by keeping our sites clean and organized. The Sanitation Coordinator will play an important role in the daily cleanup of our various algae production areas and construction sites.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Tidy construction areas, removing rubbish and placing tools in their appropriate area after use.
- Breakdown cardboard, take out rubbish to the dumpsters and occasionally to the transfer station.
- Organize working spaces, like the workshop and cleaning stations, by putting tools and material back in their designated places.
- Assist Algae Technicians in cleaning aquaculture tanks by scrubbing tanks and following tank cleaning procedures to prepare clean water for algae the following day.
- Respect and protect the confidentiality of the company’s proprietary information.
- Commit to bringing one's best self to work daily including an eagerness to learn and contribute as a team member and as an individual. 
- Perform other duties as needed or directed by the supervisor.

Physical and Other Requirements
- Ability to work at least 20 hours per week; likely will include some weekends. Regular attendance and punctuality is essential to carrying out the duties of this position.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, in indoor lab with concrete floors and outdoors on uneven surfaces
- Ability to work in a wet/humid environment, inside and outside during all seasons
- Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. 
- Ability to work with and around chemicals such as bleach and acid, following all safety guidelines.

Compensation
- This is an hourly position starting at $15 per hour.
Blue Ocean Barns offers competitive benefits including compensation dependent on level of experience, with overtime, full health, vision, and dental coverage, covering 100% of insurance premium for employee and 50% for dependents available to FT employees (PT employees based on eligibility).
